Laptop computer, wallets stolen from apartment on Ridge Avenue

Three wallets and a laptop computer were taken from an apartment in central Evanston early Wednesday morning.

Two 21-year-old men and a 23-year-old woman reported the crime Wednesday after noticing their wallets and one of their Apple MacBook Pro laptops was missing from their apartment in the 1700 block of Ridge Avenue. The rear door was unlocked, and one of the men woke up at about 3 a.m. to see a shadow outside his room, Dugan said. The subject figured it was one of his roommates and went back to sleep.

The laptop is valued at $1800, and the wallets were valued at $20, $45 and $50.

The scene will be processed for fingerprints and detectives will be attempting to track the laptop, Dugan said.
