A fugitive investigation is underway as the U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force searches for a man presumed to be connected with a January murder in Evanston, Evanston Police Department said in a news release.

Ronald Kyle III is suspected of killing 20-year-old Benjamin Bradford-Mandujano, who was murdered Jan. 19 in the 1300 block of Darrow Avenue just after 9 p.m. Evanston police detectives were working with the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force, who were able to obtain an arrest warrant for first degree murder for Kyle, EPD said in the release.

The 18-year-old is a resident of Country Club Hills, Illinois, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said. Bradford-Mandujano and Kyle were acquaintances at the time of the murder, although police do not know of any motive at this time, Dugan added.

There is a $2,500 reward for information that can lead to Kyle’s arrest.
