Evanston police arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with an armed robbery of Aldi, 221 Oakton St., on Sunday, police said.

Hamilton G. Solorzano, a Chicago resident, was arrested Feb. 28 in connection with the crime, which occurred at approximately 9 p.m. on Jan. 9, police said. An Aldi clerk was robbed at gun point, police said. The robber took register receipts worth just under $1,600 in cash, police said.

Police said through witness accounts, video evidence and physical evidence, they were able to uncover information leading to a person of interest. Solorzano was then arrested Sunday and charged with one count of armed robbery, police said.

Solorzano appeared in bond court Tuesday morning, police said.
