Ray-Ban sunglasses stolen from Sherman Avenue store

Two men stole two pairs of Ray-Ban sunglasses from VisualEyes, 1725 Sherman Ave., on Thursday afternoon.

An employee of the store told police two unknown men took the glasses at about 3:05 p.m. and fled southbound on Sherman Avenue, Evanston Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott said. The estimated value of the glasses is $360, police said.

Man steals three bottles of liquor from Walgreens store

An unidentified man stole three bottles of liquor Thursday from a Walgreens store in Evanston, police said.

The man stole the bottles from the Walgreens store at 635 Chicago Ave. at about 6:35 p.m., Parrott said. An employee noticed that a box of aluminum foil for sale at the store had been opened. The employee also observed an unknown man remove three bottles of liquor and wrap the bottles in aluminum foil. The man then left the store without paying, Parrott said. The estimated value of the liquor was $98, police said.
