Chicago resident charged with aggravated battery after stabbing in south Evanston

A Chicago resident was charged Monday in connection with aggravated battery after a stabbing last week in south Evanston, police said.

Eduardo Mancera, 34, stabbed another man in the 500 block of Howard Street at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday, Evanston Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott said. The injured man, 36, was stabbed in his left leg with a knife. Both men were intoxicated at the time of the stabbing, police said.

The two men spent time together before the incident and it appears they were friends, Parrott said.
