An Evanston man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a drug bust on the city’s west side that totaled almost $10,000, police said.

The Evanston Police Department’s Special Operations Group found 12 grams of cocaine, 2.5 grams of marijuana and $9,781 after executing a search warrant at the home of 38-year-old Dion W. Smith, according to authorities. Police said they also discovered a scale and plastic bags.

Smith, of the 1000 block of Dodge Avenue, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of cannabis. He is scheduled to appear in court April 21.
