Police execute warrant for illegal drugs in Rogers Park

Police arrested a Chicago resident Friday in connection with several drug- and gun-related charges, police said.

Evanston police executed a search warrant for illegal drugs Friday in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood, culminating in the arrest of Christopher Collins, of the 6900 block of N. Sheridan Road. The investigation originated with illegal drug sales occurring in Evanston, police said.

Officers from Evanston’s special operations group worked with officers from the Chicago Police Department’s 24th district. Officers found crack cocaine, cannabis and two loaded handguns in the apartment.

Collins is scheduled to appear in Cook County court Feb. 4.
