Evanston police arrest, charge convicted felon in drug bust

Evanston police arrested and charged a convicted felon in connection with a drug bust early Tuesday morning on the city’s west side.

The department’s Special Operations Group raided the apartment of Andre S. Stinnette, 33, at about 5:35 a.m. in the 1600 block of Davis Street, police said. The tactical team found 15 grams of marijuana, a small amount of crack cocaine and $1,200 in possible drug money.

Stinnette faces three felony drug charges and one misdemeanor. Stinnette picked up a second misdemeanor charge for trying to get rid of potential evidence during the bust, according to police.

Stinnette is scheduled to appear in court May 24.
