Evanston woman arrested in connection with battery

Police charged a woman with battery and her male acquaintance with disobedience to police Wednesday in west Evanston, Parrott said.

Witnesses reported seeing the Evanston woman, 30, strike a Skokie woman across the face, resulting in a small cut, Parrott said. When police arrived at the scene in the 2300 block of Church Street, one of the women’s acquaintances fled.

Police asked the Evanston man, 21, to stop, but the man continued to run nearly a mile away from the scene to the 2000 block of Dodge Avenue, Parrott said. Police to not know why the man decided to flee.
