As outgoing ASG financial VP and student groups VP, we would like to formally endorse Ani Ajith and Alex Van Atta for the positions of president and vice president of ASG. We have worked extensively with both candidates over the past year and believe that when it comes to working on issues that matter most to students – mental health, alcohol policy, campus safety and puppies – Ani and Alex’s track record speaks for itself.

With regard to student groups, Girish and I have full faith in the direction of Ani and Alex’s campaign. While we do support an eventual increase in the funding pool for ASG recognized student groups, we are uncomfortable supporting such a platform without first looking to create a stronger funding model. With direct service on both the ASG committees that work with student groups, Ani and Alex have the most realistic plan to get student groups the money they need today while building a more effective funding system for tomorrow.
