Evanston resident stabbed in the hand

A 29-year-old Evanston man was stabbed by an acquaintance around 12:40 a.m. Thursday in the 2100 block of Emerson Street.

The victim reported the incident to the Evanston Police Department but was not cooperative with the investigation. The man received a minor injury to his hand and was treated by paramedics on the scene, EPD Cmdr. Jay Parrott said.

Man leaves Whole Foods without paying for granola bars, pizza

A 20-year-old man walked out of Whole Foods Market, 1640 Chicago Ave., Wednesday night with two boxes of granola bars and a slice of pizza without paying.

The man was stopped and confronted by the store’s loss prevention manager a block down the street. After giving the items back, the man fled the scene. The store then called the police to report the incident, Parrott said.
