Event: CaribFest Where: Louis Room, Norris University Center When: 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, May 25 Listen to music and enjoy Caribbean culture with free food, raffles and giveways. The evening will be hosted by J Niice of B96 and feature performances by the New Dynamics, Hydroreggae and DJ Ringo. Event: Asian NU Project Pride Rally Where: Deering Field When: 4 p.m. Thursday, May 24 End Asian and Pacific Heritage month with a bang at Northwestern’s first Asian Pride Rally. Celebrate the diversity of Asian culture with live music, and receive free buttons, bandanas, stickers and more. Event: Dillo Day Where: The Lakefill When: Saturday, May 26 Just in case you’ve been out of social commission, Dillo Day, NU’s largest free music festival, is this weekend. Celebrate 40 years of Dillo with fun activities and freebies as you listen to Big Boi, Cold War Kids and Steve Aoki with the Lakefill as the backdrop. Diversions and Excursions Evanston Event: RHINO Poetry Workshop Where: Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave. When: 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 26 Learn how to assemble a collection of poems at this workshop lead by published poet and professor, Andrea Witzke Slot. There will also be time for participants to have their poems critiqued. Chicago Event: ROOF Sundays Where: 201 N. State St, 27th floor When: Noon to 10 p.m. Sunday, May 27 Close out Memorial Day weekend with a midday party on a downtown Chicago rooftop.
