Jammed at Philfest A&O and SEED hosted Philfest, Northwestern’s annual bluegrass festival. This event was held in remembrance of Phil Semmers, a former member of SEED who died in a car accident a few years ago. The event featured an afternoon of music and tie-dying, and all donations went to the Rocky Mountain Institute. Cheered on contestants at Battle of the Bands The annual Battle of the Bands contest was held last Thursday and Friday, hosted by Mayfest. The winning band, The Earth is a Man, will be performing at Dillo Day on May 26. Second and third place went to Jet Jaguar and the Aurelia Trio. Attended the Big Ass Asian Meeting Various Asian American students gathered last Friday to discuss the Asian community and its role at Northwestern. This event, titled the Big Ass Asian Meeting, was sponsored by the Asian NU Project, whose aim is to unite the Asian community and greater Northwestern community on campus.
