Clothes lines:Concrete catwalk

If you weren’t on campus Saturday, you missed out. I’ll try anything (fashionable) once, and this weekend’s excursion was a jaunt to the library and Norbucks in a reconstruction of look 59 from Michael Kors’ fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection, meticulously researched down to the undone, bobby-pinned knot and Dick Page’s deep crimson lip and flushed cheeks.

Traipsing around in a semi-sheer beaded frock and faux-silver fox stole at 4 p.m. attracts a fair amount of stares, but I did it all in the name of research: Your dutiful style columnist approached nine unsuspecting passersby, four female and five male ranging from ages 15 to 59, to collect real quantitative data using the (pseudo) scientific method.

They described my look as flamboyant, extraordinary and outrageous. Two respondents called it crazy while multiple others questioned its weather-appropriateness.
