ASG presidential campaigns kick off

Campaigning for this year’s Northwestern Associated Student Government elections formally launched Monday, with debates occurring on campus throughout the week.

SESP junior Kameron Dodge, Weinberg junior Dan Tully and Weinberg junior Victor Shao are this year’s presidential candidates. Their running mates will be Communication junior Steven Monacelli, Weinberg junior Jeziel Jones and Medill junior Brad Stewart, respectively.

ASG will hold debates beginning Wednesday, April 4, and ending Monday, April 9, with the final debate for presidential candidates.

Candidates for ASG academic vice president and student life vice president will also start campaigning this week, according to ASG.

According to the 2012 ASG Election Guidelines, “non-verbal campaigning,” which involves any written materials, officially began on Monday. Non-verbal campaigning includes electronic campaigning, such as the creation of Facebook groups and personal candidate websites.

ASG elections will take place April 11.
