An Evanston resident reported being battered Tuesday night.
The alleged attacker hit the man in the face with a pole after a verbal dispute escalated near Foster Street and Darrow Avenue, said Perry Polinski, the Evanston Police Department’s communications coordinator.
The resident was transported to a nearby hospital, Polinski added.
Man arrested for disobeying police
EPD charged an Evanston resident with disobedience to police Tuesday night.
Officers responded to a disturbance in the 1900 block of Howard Street and found two men fighting in the street, Polinski said. The 28-year-old repeatedly yelled at officers when they verbally commanded him to sit down.
The man is scheduled to appear in court May 2.
