No stranger to the stage, Communication junior Zach Sorrow wowed the crowd last week with his performance as Marvin in the student production “Falsettos.” In case you missed him, though, he’ll be back and ready to amaze again in Freshman Fifteen’s performances throughout the year and in the spring as part of the cast for “Waa-Mu 2012: Off the Map.” In the meantime, read on to find out what song is making this theater major ‘a capella bob’ and which silent film he’s dying to watch.
Excerpts:
The Current: What is the most played song on your iPod or iTunes?
Zach Sorrow: The most played song in my iTunes library is “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5. We’re going to be arranging the song for Freshman Fifteen to sing.
The Current: Favorite Jagger move?
ZS: The a capella bob is the only move I do.
The Current: Which song cheers you up when you’re having a bad day?
ZS: I always feel better after I listen to “We Never Change” by Coldplay. It’s very straightforward and reminds me that sometimes, there’s just nothing you can do.
The Current: What type of music does your go-to playlist consist of?
ZS: My go-to playlist is usually a combination of Coldplay, Daft Punk, Radiohead, John Mayer, Maroon 5, Dave Matthews Band and the Glee version of “Teenage Dream”.
The Current: Any new movies you’ve been waiting to watch?
ZS: I am dying to see The Artist. I just haven’t had the chance to see it with “Falsettos” rehearsals, but since I’ve got some free time now I may be able to go soon. I’ve heard it’s amazing; it’s gotten a ton of Oscar nominations and I haven’t seen a silent movie in a long time.
The Current: What’s your favorite television show?
ZS: “Lost.” I just finished [watching] it religiously on Netflix. I had withdrawals when the show ended.
The Current: What website do you waste the most time on? Favorite meme?
ZS: Lifehacker.com. It’s nerdy computer stuff and do-it-yourself projects. My favorite meme is ‘first world problems’ but it’s embarrassing because they’re terrible.
