The Week That Was/This Week NU Students Were NOT

This Week That Was

Gone Greek Night

Newly Greek “babies” had their biggest official night out with all of the fraternity and sorority members on campus last Friday. But that’s all, folks! What happened on Gone Greek Night stays on Gone Greek Night.

“The Bluest Eye”

After a successful seven-night run, “The Bluest Eye” had its last performance Sunday. The adaptation of the American classic by Toni Morrison was written by awarding winning NU alum Lydia Diamond. Audiences had a special treat of participating in discussions of the show’s content following the performances.

Super Bowl Night

Just like the rest of America, Wildcats gathered to enjoy the Super Bowl this Sunday, and Giants fans were certainly pleased. The halftime show featured Madonna and was filled with guest appearances by LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A. and Cee Lo Green. Who’s already excited for next year?

New Visitors Center

School officials announced Friday the plan to construct a new visitors center for prospective students and their families. The announcement was a surprise because the school also recently announced the plan for a new music and Communication building. Hooray for campus renovations!

Katy Kim

This Week, NU students were NOT:

Worried about AEPi losing their house (thanks, Patricia Telles-Irvin)

Having the most tame Gone Greek Night in years

Sure exactly how old Madonna is

Confused about who was playing in the Super Bowl

Angry that the quarter is more than halfway over
