The Tau Delta Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Pi will move from its current location, 562 Lincoln St., to 584 Lincoln St. effective Sept. 1, 2012, Patricia Telles– Irvin, vice president for student affairs, said in an email sent to the University community Friday.
According to the email, the new space will allow more members to live in the building. The email also said the new building is “more us.”
Matsil said the chapter will tour the new venue at a future date.
Interfraternity Council President Patrick Schnettler said he was “very excited for community.”
Telles-Irvin’s email also said AEPi is the first of three chapters to move from Lincoln Street. Theta Chi and Zeta Beta Tau are currently discussing with Northwestern plans to move from their current locations – 572 Lincoln St. and 576 Lincoln St., respectively – due to “deteriorating” building structures.
ZBT President and Medill junior Jon Rosenberg said he did not want to comment.
According to Theta Chi’s press release, the fraternity will move from their current location to a new location that the University has yet to determine.
