Evanston police arrested a Chicago resident for possession of approximately $1,922 worth of drugs Friday afternoon, according to an Evanston Police Department news release.

David Weiner, 23, received eight drug-related charges for allegedly possessing and intending to deliver various amounts of ecstasy, cannabis, LSD and psilocybin.

Chicago police and the EPD Neighborhood Enforcement team acted on a search warrant and investigated a location on West Rosemont Avenue in Chicago. When no one responded, police forcefully entered the building.

Weiner and three others were inside the building with the drugs. Police took Weiner into custody and released the others without charges.

Police said they found what appears to be two grams of MDMA powder, 106 ecstasy pills, 85.7 grams of cannabis, 0.1 grams of LSD and 6.1 grams of psilocybin.

Weiner is scheduled to appear Nov. 9 at Circuit Court in Skokie.
