Blotter: Sept. 22

Juvenile drug paraphernalia

Evanston Police Department officers were on foot patrol at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the 2500 block of Poplar Avenue when they discovered a path near Peter Jans Golf course.

EPD Commander Tom Guenther said officers followed the path, which was also near the North Shore Sanitary Canal area. The officers found two juveniles sitting on the concrete portion of a bridge and ordered them to get down. The officers found a yellow bong at the scene.

Further investigation revealed that it was in fact a metal smoking pipe for cannabis. The officers also recovered cannabis from the individuals, which later tested positive for marijuana. One of the juveniles was taken into custody for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis.

Man arrested for battery concerning shoes

Police arrested and booked 32-year-old Skokie resident Aaron Morales for battery on Wednesday, Guenther said.

Morales was taken into custody in connection with an incident Tuesday in which another man alleged he was battered by two acquaintances for his gym shoes.

Morales was the initial suspect in that investigation.
