Despite concussion, Persa expected to play

Junior quarterback Dan Persa, who suffered a minor concussion during Saturday’s game against Indiana, is expected to play in this week’s game at Penn State, coach Pat Fitzgerald said.

On a second-and-11 midway through the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game, Persa rushed for three yards before he was hit by safety Mitchell Evans and middle linebacker Jeff Thomas. Persa talked with NU trainers on the field for several minutes before leaving the game.
