Midterm elections are fast approaching and though news stations and papers have been discussing its importance to no end, we wanted to see if Northwestern students would get out and vote. The Weekly asked 100 students in Norris to see if they would show up to the polls to rock the vote on Tuesday and found that most NU students aren’t. Shockingly, more than one student responded with “What election?” Sixty people said they would not be voting, citing reasons ranging from forgetting to register or being too lazy. Twenty-nine were planning on voting in Illinois or in their home states, and 11 had already mailed in their absentee ballots.
