Climate Change Symposium to feature talk on carbon dioxide

Ralph F. Keeling, a professor at University of California, San Diego, will deliver the keynote speech, titled “Rising CO2: A Never-Ending Story,” in NU’s second annual Climate Change Symposium. The event will take place at 8:30 a.m. in the McCormick Auditorium at Norris University Center.

The day-long symposium will feature eight speakers in addition to Keeling. It is sponsored by the earth and planetary sciences department, the Initiative for Sustainability and Energy at Northwestern, the Program in Environmental Policy and Culture and the Environmental Science, Engineering and Policy Program.

The symposium aims to bring together leading environmental minds to discuss issues facing the world.

“I think it is essential that Northwestern provide a platform to help build awareness, understanding and engagement on this topic,” ISEN director of operation Bridget Calendo told Medill News Reports last year.
