Man steals women’s clothes, shoes from store by hiding items in jacket
A man stole clothing and women’s shoes from a store by slipping them under his jacket Sunday afternoon, police said.
A loss prevention officer at A.J. Wright, 1916 Dempster Ave., said he saw a man selecting and concealing multiple articles of clothing and shoes in his jacket, Cmdr. Tom Guenther of the Evanston Police Department said.
The loss prevention officer said he asked the man to return to the store after he walked past the last cashier, but the man ran eastbound with about $50 worth of merchandise, Guenther said.
