I’m a crassly political 21-year-old frat boy Democrat. My hometown is in a district that has voted Republican since Grover Cleveland was President. Throughout high school, my frustration with the way we were handling our country’s problems rendered me incapable of keeping my mouth shut on political issues. Frustration and outspoken liberalism drove me to Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. I was with the campaign through some very lean times before the Iowa caucuses, but persisted through nearly a year and a half of nonstop campaigning to Election Day 2008.
Since then, my mission of promoting progressive values has taken me through bullpens of political campaigns and halls of government. But even after my party transitioned from insurgent to incumbent I found that I still had more opinions than patience. I’m looking forward to sharing some of them with you, fellow civic-minded Wildcats, and hopefully we’ll spark a few conversations along the way.
