Trespasser plagues NU basketball gameA man repeatedly trespassed at the Northwestern-Purdue basketball game Saturday evening, police said.

The suspect, Colin Ryan, an Evanston resident, was in the Northeast corner of Welsh-Ryan Arena where he was trying to view the game, when police confronted him, Northwestern Deputy Police Chief Daniel McAleer said.

Ryan escaped into the men’s restroom and then went outside where he started being loud and shouting obscenities, police said.

The suspect again came into the lobby where he started being verbally combative and spitting at the feet of an NU police officer, McAleer said.

Ryan was arrested for criminal trespassing at 6:10 p.m. and released on bond at 8:10 p.m. He will be in court next month, police said.
