Student loan office employee reports harassing phone call

Someone harassed an employee of Northwestern’s Student Loan Office over the phone Monday afternoon, NU police said.

The person called the Student Loan Office, 555 Clark St., to ask about a loan issue around 4:45 p.m., said University Police Deputy Chief Dan McAleer. The caller became agitated, frightening the employee, he said.

Police advised the employee to call police if the person called again or appeared in the office, McAleer said.

Thief steals locked bicycle from front entrance of Tech

A bicycle was stolen from the front entrance of the Technological Institute on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The NU student who owned the bicycle secured it with a combination rope lock at the front entrance of Tech, 2145 Sheridan Road, at 3:30 p.m., McAleer said. When he returned at 4:45 p.m., the bicycle had been removed.

The student provided police with the model number and serial number of the silver 18-speed bicycle.
