Illinois-Chicago Game Postponed By Weather (Baseball)

Northwestern’s game at Illinois-Chicago was postponed Tuesday because of rain. The game has been rescheduled for today at 7:35 p.m. The Wildcats (14-36) will seek to repeat last Tuesday’s performance, when they defeated the Flames , 6-2. The Cats are 3-2 in midweek games this season.

When the Cats traveled to Chicago last year, the Flames (30-17) handed them a 23-5 loss, the most lopsided defeat of the season for NU.

The Cats have a 59-16-1 all-time record against the Flames.

Coming off a disappointing weekend sweep at Michigan State, NU will be looking to gain some momentum heading into their season-ending series with Purdue.

The Cats surrendered leads in each game of the sweep, which knocked them out of contention for a Big Ten tournament spot.

For seniors Caleb Fields, Dan Schwartz, Ryan Myers, Andrew Smith and Geoff Dietz, this week marks the conclusion of their collegiate baseball experience. The quintet will be looking to finish their NU careers on a high note.
