No Meat? No Problem

Call me heartless, pelt me with me with tomatoes, but I never went through that shortlived “compassion-for-all-the-poor-little-animals-of-planet-Earth” vegetarian phase as a kid. Medium-rare cheeseburgers, thick salmon filets and charred chicken breasts never fail to make me salivate.

But I’m willing to give Earth child staples like tofu and seitan a try. I mean, I’m a firm believer in the virtues of fresh, firm tofu piled atop a massive salad. Even if there’s a dusting of bacon bits and diced chicken peeking out below. I guess I’m an intrepid carnivore with a flair for healthy and cruelty-free protein.

Thus began my quest for legitimately flavorful vegan and vegetarian fare.
