Ugly BettyThursday, 7 p.m. (ABC)
This show premiered this fall, and to be honest, I’ve never watched it, but it might be worth watching for those of you who like to cheer for the underdog. In this week’s episode, Betty, the unattractive assistant to the new head of Mode fashion magazine (the egocentric Daniel) deals with her family at Thanksgiving. But the most exciting and newsworthy part of the eighth episode is that Salma Hayek will once again be appearing as Sofia, a competitor in the fashion world who takes over one of Mode magazine’s conference rooms and invites herself to Daniel’s Thanksgiving celebration. That’s drama, but we’re still waiting for her braces to come off.
My Name Is EarlThursday, 7 p.m. (NBC)
Earl is still on his way to making up for all of the bad things he has done in his life in the second season of this Emmy award-winning comedy. In this week’s episode, Earl’s goal is to get number 26 off of his to-do list when he tries to redeem himself for robbing a stoner blind. To achieve this goal, Earl and his brother Randy must first find the stoner. Once the stoner is located, Earl and Randy decide that to make up for Earl’s mistake in the past, they must live with the stoner for a week. Tune in to find out what exactly Earl did to “rob a stoner blind,” then stay tuned for “The Office” after. Oh, you weren’t doing homework anyway.
Day BreakWednesday, 8 p.m. (ABC)
This Wednesday was the series premiere of ABC’s newest drama. When first seeing the previews for this show, I thought it would be strikingly similar to Bill Murray’s Groundhog Day, but without the humor. You’ll have to be the judge, but in this show we follow Detective Brett Hopper (Taye Diggs) as he lives through an awful day over and over again. While the series of events never remains constant, he always ends up in the same place. After being wrongly accused of killing a District Attorney, Hopper discovers that his loved ones are in danger. Battling the bad guys day after day, Hopper tries to save those in danger while hoping that he won’t have to live this day ever again.
