Halloween weekend has finally arrived, but instead of hiding out to indulge in way too much mini candy, head out to one of these Chicago bars in hopes of meeting some cool ghouls.
Sound-Bar Shame, Sex and Shackles is what this bar has dubbed their Friday night Halloween blowout. Filled with leather, bondage gear and plenty of body painting artists on-hand, let’s hope you get home without shame or shackles… The Sound-Bar is located at 226 W. Ontario St. The party starts at 9 pm., cover is free before 10.
Five Star Bar & Grill We’re just dying to attend the Dead Rock Star Halloween Party which will feature DJ Mike V and, of course, an outrageous costume contest. Never got to hear Kurt Cobain or Mama Cass in concert? Now’s your chance. If nothing else, hopefully we’ll get to hear the “Monster Mash.” Come play dead from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m Friday. at 1424 W. Chicago Ave.
Lion Head Pub/The Apartment Halloween’s alright cause it’s Saved by the Bell! Get this – Mr. Belding (Dennis Haskins) is hosting the bar’s spooky celebration, and administering tests (“Saved by the Bell” trivia) and a Screech look-a-like contest. Pull out the curly hair and the squeaky voice, and some current financial issues to win. Head back to Bayside High from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday at 2251 N. Lincoln Ave.
Reserve You don’t really have to go all the way to Chicago to find a creepfest, but Creepfest at this bar has a costume contest, complimentary Bud Select and vodka cocktails plus goodies from 9-10:30 p.m. Saturday. Take that, NU. DJs Quincy, Cullos and David Britton will also be spinning through the night. Cover is $10-20, but call to RSVP and get a cheaper cover. Reserve is located at 858 W. Lake St. and open until 3 a.m.
