Q & A Brad North

By Franklin Kao and Nina Mandell The Daily Northwestern

Whether it’s because he’s one of the most dominant players on Northwestern’s offense, or just because of the crazy hair-in-a-headband look reminiscent of David Beckham’s early days, it’s hard not to notice NU soccer’s Brad North.

But as Daily Sports’ Franklin Kao discovered, there’s more to the Texas native than just the senior forward’s presence on the pitch. Or his hair.

Q: What’s your favorite movie?

A: I’d have to say “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” It’s definitely my “go-to” movie.

Q: If there were to be a biopic based off of your life, who would you want to play you?

A: Probably Johnny Depp. He’s one of my favorites. I like how he plays it cool and is really laid back.

Q: Who would play your love interest?

A: I’d have to say Eva Longoria. She’s gorgeous, but she also has that feisty attitude from “Desperate Housewives” that I like.

Q: Who’s your favorite Brat Pack actor/actress?

A: Anthony Michael Hall. I like him in “The Breakfast Club” the most. He has that shy and romantic side that I could relate to. I used to be like that around girls.

Q: What’s your favorite childhood TV show?

A: “Full House” was definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. Also, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” Leonardo and Raphael were my favorites.

Q: So you’re from Texas, what part of Texas do you miss most when at NU?

A: I miss going out to Lake Conroe with my friends during the summer. Also, I miss hanging out at my friend’s ranch.

Q: What part of NU do you miss the most at Texas?

A: Definitely my friends and teammates.

Q: If you were to characterize yourself as a fruit, which fruit would that be?

A: A strawberry. Everybody likes strawberries.

Q: If you could have any superpower what would it be?

A: The ability to fly.
