At times she’s been the lone bright spot on a struggling women’s basketball team. On Tuesday Northwestern’s only senior, Ifeoma Okonkwo, was named as an honorable mention selection on the 2005-06 all-Big Ten team.
Okonkwo ranked eighth in the conference in scoring this season for the Wildcats (6-21, 2-14 Big Ten), putting in 14.6 points per game. She also was sixth in rebounding, pulling down 7.1 per game.
Okonkwo is NU’s first all-Big Ten honoree since Sarah Kwasinski earned the same distinction in 2002.
