Activists advanced King’s goal
In passing out fliers bearing the slogan, “He is not president of me,” the students standing outside Pick-Staiger Concert Hall Monday morning were not trying to divide. We were trying to get across the message that individual people, regardless of who sits in the White House, should remain active and involved.
The three of us listened to Yolanda King discuss her father, what he believed in and what he stood for. The whole theme of her speech was that King’s birthday should be a time for action, not just remembering.
