The Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus perform for the grand unveiling of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Later, things get hotter when the Redmoon Theater illuminates the park with lanterns and film, while the contemporary classical group Fulcrum Point New Music Project and Fareed Haque & The Indo-Pak Jazz Coalition perform at 10:30 p.m. with special guests.
Saturday, July 17
Learn about the history of the park from an expert by taking a guided tour, which run every 30 minutes at different locations around the park. At 12:30 p.m., more than 20 music and dance companies representing Chicago’s diverse neighborhoods kick off a unique parade with everything from Mexican folk dance to Irish stepping. At 3:30 p.m., Chicago blues legend Koko Taylor takes the stage at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion with several other Chicago musicians.
Sunday, July 18
At noon, the Bumblinni Brothers and Chicago Youth Circus perform in the center ring of the Bank One Promenade. At 5 p.m., listen to improvisational jazz performed by professional musicians and students in the park — all orchestrated by artistic director and composer Douglas Ewart.

Take the Red Line and get off at the State/Lake stop. Walk east to Michigan Avenue and south to Randolph Street.
