Anti-hate crime crusaders value their cause over facts
Perhaps Friday columnist Matt Lopas is not telling us the whole truth.
He is not upset that all over the country scandals like Jaime “Xander” Saide’s are hitting campuses. He even cites the latest possible hate-crime hoax at Claremont McKenna College in California.
But instead of issuing a true rebuke he just whines that the wonderful dialogue about evil racist college students has ended here at Northwestern. What appears to really be upsetting him is that the fictional college Nazis just do not exist. There is no one to crusade against.
Next time the horrible, scary graffiti starts appearing, Lopas is one of the first people who should be questioned when administrators panic and call in the FBI.
