SKOKIE — A preliminary hearing for a Northwestern student charged with four drug-related felonies was postponed Thursday.
Maya T. Jensen, 20, now is scheduled to appear Dec. 15 at Circuit Court in Skokie. She appeared at the Skokie court with her lawyer Thursday to request a continuance.
Jensen was released on $10,000 bond Oct. 20. Jensen, a Weinberg sophomore, was arrested Oct. 18 outside of University Library and charged with dealing and possessing marijuana.
She was charged with four felonies: one count of delivery of marijuana 30 grams and under; one count of possession of marijuana over 30 grams; and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Jensen also was charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.
Under Illinois law the Class 4 felony for marijuana delivery of 10.1 grams to 30 grams could carry a penalty of one to three years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.
A second female was taken into custody at the time Jensen was arrested, according to a University Police report, but the other woman later was released without charges.
