NPHC prepares for K.A.O.S. step show, party in Chicago

Members of Northwestern’s National Pan-Hellenic Council are gearing up for Saturday night’s K.A.O.S. 2003 show, billed as the largest Greek step show and party in the Midwest.

The event, which takes place at Chicago’s De LaSalle Institute at 3455 South Wabash, has attracted as many as 3,000 attendants in past years, said Michael Blake, co-chairman of the step-team committee.

Ten members from NU’s historically black sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha will perform. The group will be joined by other performance groups from many universities, with representatives from Indiana, Kansas and Chicago, Blake said.

K.A.O.S., now in its 18th year, has occurred on Memorial Day weekend in past years as well.

Buses from NU traveling to the show will leave from the Garrett Evangelical-Theological Seminary parking lot at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Pre-sale tickets, which guarantee a seat on the bus, are being sold at the Norris Box Office for $10. Regular admission tickets cost $15.
