After nearly a year of lobbying by School of Music administrators and students, the Music Practice Hall, commonly referred to as the Beehive, will get a $16,000 Marlock security system in early November.
The system will use WildCARD readers at the building’s two exterior doors to allow only authorized students and faculty to enter. Last year, the Music Student Advisory Board recommended that officials install a similar system at Regenstein Hall of Music after an unknown man was found wandering the halls late one night in Fall Quarter.
