Evanston City Council elections held today

Months of campaigning end today.

Elections for nine city council positions are taking place across the city, and candidates are working to get their names and faces out one last time.

“I’m definitely going to be a candidate all day, ” said Mimi Peterson, a Fourth Ward candidate.

Residents can vote for First Ward candidates Allan Drebin or Incumbent Ald. Art Newman at locations including the Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, “1”” Sheridan Road, and the Evanston Public Library, 170″ Orrington Ave.

Seventh Ward polling stations include Kendall College, “408 Orrington Ave., and Patten Gym, “407 Sheridan Road. Incumbent Ald. Stephen Engelman is running against three opponents: Karl Gromelski, Howard Levin and Junad Rizki.
