Hispanic studies blasted

The Hispanic studies department is under fire from students for its decision to not hire back visiting Prof. Christopher Larkosh, who has taught South American literature at Northwestern for two years.

At a meeting on Monday, about 20 students agreed to start a letter-writing campaign on Larkosh’s behalf. They also decided to petition for changes to the department — which serves 77 majors and 217 minors — demanding better advising, less stringent credit rules for the study abroad program, more 300 level classes and better planning of course schedules.

“We’re the ones that have to put up with this crap from the department,” said Alianza president and Medill sophomore Lilly Gonz
