Three shot in Evanston overnight

Evanston detectives are currently investigating a shooting that occurred early Monday morning and resulted in three gunshot victims, police said.

Officers on a deployment patrol near Lyons Street and Dodge Avenue heard several gunshots south of their location at approximately 12:57 a.m., according to a news release from Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan.

After following the gunshots, police located two victims at a residence in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue. According to the news release, a 19-year-old male Evanston resident, was shot in the left bicep, and a 17-year-old juvenile male Skokie resident, was shot in the right thigh.

Both males were then transported to Evanston Hospital for treatment, where a 17-year-old juvenile male Evanston resident, also arrived wounded from a bullet fragment to his left hamstring, according to the news release.

“None of the injuries are considered life threatening,” Dugan said in the news release. “Preliminary investigation reveals that the victims were standing near a residence on the west side of Dodge Avenue and the shots came from between two houses on the east side of Dodge Avenue. There is no suspect description at this time.”
