Northwestern linebacker Anthony Walker has been named third-team All-American, the Associated Press announced Sunday. The sophomore is the only Wildcats representative on the team.

The accolade comes after a stellar season that saw Walker tally 113 total tackles and 19.5 tackles for loss as the heart of NU’s stingy defense. Walker also earned All-Big Ten first-team distinction for his efforts, and is the first Cats player since kicker Jeff Budzien in 2013 to be named to an AP All-American team.
