Ridge Avenue is closed until Monday afternoon after a partial building collapse and electrical fire Saturday night.

The Evanston fire department responded shortly before midnight to reports of a fence on fire at the National School Towel Service, 1815 Ridge Ave., the department said. Authorities found the northeast section of the roof had fallen in while the building was empty, downing a power line near the fence.

The fire department extinguished the fire and shut off water, gas and electricity in the vicinity.

Authorities closed all lanes on Ridge Avenue, the department said. The northbound lanes of the street from Church to Emerson streets will likely open midday Monday.
