The porch of an Evanston building collapsed Monday night, sending four people to local hospitals, a city official said.

Around 12 people were on the second-floor porch of a building, 1941 Darrow Ave., when it collapsed around 8:45 p.m., city manager Wally Bobkiewicz said in an email to local media. At least one person was on the porch below.

Four people were taken to Evanston and Presence Saint Francis hospitals with minor injuries, Bobkiewicz said. The other people on the porch were treated at the scene and released, he said.

Officials from the Evanston fire department and the Evanston Police Department responded to the scene, Bobkiewicz said.
