Power outages reported throughout Northwestern, Evanston

Power outages affected more than 600 customers in Evanston on Monday night, according to Commonwealth Edison.

On Northwestern’s campus, there were outages at University Library, Blomquist Recreation Center and portions of Norris University Center, among other buildings.

Around 10:45 p.m., students were told to leave the library and the building was closed. Power was restored to the library by 11:40 p.m., but the building remained closed.

Some students’ off-campus residences were also affected, including some on Orrington Avenue, Library Place and Sherman Avenue.

The outage was resolved by 12:04 a.m. Tuesday, according to the ComEd website.
