Northwestern to undergo re-accreditation process

Northwestern will undergo re-accreditation next year, which will include assessments measuring if NU meets a regional commission’s criteria, the University announced last week.

The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools will evaluate NU with several examinations, testing whether NU satisfies certain requirements and federal compliance data.

NU is one of 57 other schools that is part of a new pilot program called “Open Pathway,” created in an effort to maintain a more efficient and effective assessment process. As part of the program, NU will be required to submit several documents to the commission in order to properly assess the University.

As part of the re-accreditation process, the evaluation team is scheduled to visit April 27-28, 2015.
