Evanston police arrested two convicted felons and a Florida man this morning in a weapons search warrant.

Special Operations officers executed the warrant at about 6:40 a.m. in the 2900 block of Church Street. Police found a semi-automatic handgun, ammunition and cannabis.

Police charged Michael Smith, 20, with unlawful weapon use by a felon and firearm possession without proper identification. Anthony Scott, a 26-year-old felon on parole, and Jordan Johnson of Plantation, Fla., were charged with cannabis possession.

Smith is scheduled to appear in court May 24. Scott and Johnson are scheduled to appear June 5.
